Humans and animals work as a team

Humans and animals work as a team
VITA assistance dogs are special animals. They are friends, good listeners and, above all, everyday companions for people who depend on wheelchairs. To support physically disabled people and their four-legged helpers, donations are collected for one human-animal team at each annual “Don’t Stop Believin’” fundraising gala in Bochum, Germany. Fressnapf has been the main sponsor for three years. The money raised from donations is often not enough to finance an assistance dog, so Fressnapf rounds up the total to the amount needed at the end of the evening. This year, Fressnapf gave over 3,000 euros to the team made up of Angelina and her assistance dog Fluke. “The composure and self-confidence with which the many VITA teams are now able to manage their daily lives is impressive. People and animals simply make great teams, in any situation in life.” Torsten Toeller, founder and proprietor of Fressnapf, underlines his commitment, saying, “We enjoy supporting it as best we can”. more...

Fressnapf, Europe’s market leader in pet supplies, cuts prices of over 500 articles starting now, permanently. This specifically applies to the premium pet food lines. The new, permanently low prices apply to both the brick-and-mortar stores as well as the online shop from Fressnapf. The pricing strategy is accompanied by a large-scale, emotional advertising campaign in print, on the radio, online, and on TV in the months of November and December, and by a striking production in participating Fressnapf stores. more...

Families in Düsseldorf are going to the dogs!
On 26th August, there won't be any horses appearing at the Düsseldorf racecourse for once — but there will be animals involved. At the 4th Dog Event, everything will be centred around dogs from 11am to 6pm. Four-legged faithfuls, and any two-legged friends they bring along, will have more than enough time and lots of opportunities to explore, sniff and join in, to try out and be amazed by everything the venue has to offer. There will be more than 80 stalls providing information and selling products, with ideas for dogs and their owners. The cutest dogs and those with the best tricks can audition to be film stars, while dare-devil doggies can take the plunge into a giant swimming pool with Dog Diving. From dogs that can dance to those that do maths, as well as rescue dogs and sheep dogs, lots of talented pooches will be there to show what they can do. Celebrity experts will be on hand to inform owners on caring for their dog in topical workshops and presentations. And good causes won’t miss out either: TV stars such as Jumbo Schreiner (Pro7) will be weighed on a giant set of scales — with their weight being measured out in dog food, which will then be donated to dog aid projects in the region. more...
