A happy ending for Jenson and Doreen thanks to a donation from Fressnapf

A happy ending for Jenson and Doreen thanks to a donation from Fressnapf
Funding for assistance dog Doreen for physically handicapped Jenson Göb has been secured thanks to a donation from Fressnapf. Fressnapf was the main sponsor of the “Don’t Stop Believin’” benefit gala, where famous performers appeared on stage last Saturday to support the good cause, with musical star and gala initiator Bernie Blanks. The aim of the event was to raise 25,000 euros, the cost of training an assistance dog, so that Jenson could take Doreen home for good. But in the end, sponsorship money and fundraising campaigns were not enough to raise the full amount. When Fressnapf spokesman Achim Schütz took to the gala stage at the RuhrCongress centre in Bochum, he came up with a surprise. On behalf of Fressnapf, he spontaneously topped up the missing amount, making sure that Jenson and Doreen can share their future together. more...

With rolling pins and biscuit cutters: Fressnapf bakes for Germany’s animal shelters
To celebrate Christmas, Fressnapf is giving out delicious dog biscuits and cat treats to abandoned dogs and cats in Germany’s animal shelters. Streifi und Flecki, the feline and canine company mascots from the Fressnapf logo, are setting off on an epic tour of 20 animal shelters across the whole of Germany. Both mascots have got sacks stuffed full of home-baked goodies as gifts for the animals, namely 5,000 dog biscuits and cat treats, baked by Achim Schütz, Kim van Nieuwenborg and Dennis Bredtmann from the Fressnapf press office, along with Horst Schuberth, in Schuberth’s dog biscuit bakery in Neunkirchen-Seelscheid. The four spent a day wielding rolling pins and biscuit cutters in the bakery, but they weren’t alone. Streifi and Flecki, already full of excitement about giving out the treats at animal shelters in the weeks leading up to Christmas, were also there in the form of dolls measuring almost 3 metres tall. more...

Augsburg wins the “Golden Dog Bowl 2011”
The winner of the “Golden Dog Bowl 2011” has been decided. According to analyses and surveys by specialty chain Fressnapf, Augsburg is Germany’s dog-friendliest city. Fressnapf is rewarding Augsburg’s dog-friendliness with a donation of 5,000 euros for a project that aims to make life for Augsburg’s dogs even better. Second place goes to Frankfurt and last year’s winner, Munich, comes in third. The “Golden Dog Bowl” is awarded every year to the cities that show the greatest commitment to dogs and their owners. For the award, Fressnapf investigated 40 cities with over 200,000 inhabitants, in five evaluation categories. Fressnapf customers and dog owners were also asked to evaluate the dog-friendliness of their city on the Internet. more...
