Children paint for Fressnapf: Colourful artwork for Krefeld headquarters

Children from Kleefeld primary school in Lippstadt brought colour to the Fressnapf headquarters in Krefeld on May 30th 2008 with artwork they created at school. Ten months after the official inauguration of the new Krefeld-Linn office, employees can now enjoy the newly beautified seminar rooms. The young artists created colourful animal pictures to cover the white walls with enthusiasm and imagination. Yvonne Stanbury, Personal Assistant to Managing Director Michael Brackmann, contacted the primary school in her home town of Lippstadt. The school is an integrated all-day school with a total of 305 students. Together with their teacher Marita Kramer, class 4b put their full effort into the project and let their imagination run wild in the animal art kingdom.

The 25 students could choose between linocut and felting, two art techniques that are not usually taught at the school. In white line linocutting, a design is cut into a block using a special tool which is then inked and printed in colour. For felting, the children worked in groups to create colourful wall decorations using warm water and coloured wool. The result is impressive - around 30 bright, colourful pictures of animals and felt artworks, from lions to centipedes, took their place at the Fressnapf headquarters in Krefeld. Michael Brackmann praised the artworks, saying, "Children's art has a very unique, naive aesthetic, in the best sense of the word. We are delighted to be able to beautify our headquarters with these pictures." The old Fressnapf management building also had pictures of animals created by children. Artwork from children who love animals is a tradition at Fressnapf.

To thank them for their unique work, Fressnapf invited the children, their teachers and headmistress Marie-Luise Pöschel-Laube to a 'beastly' good day out - After lunch and a tour of the storehouse, the group visited the Duisburg zoo, where they could marvel at the animals they created - but this time in reality.
