Fressnapf has continued to expand unabated in the second quarter of this year, with six new stores in Germany and eleven in other European countries. As of June 30, Europe’s leading pet food and accessories retailer was represented by 692 outlets in Germany and 935 in a total of 12 European countries.

Stores in Verden, Fürstenau and Elmshorn opened their doors for the first time in April, as did new stores in Roskilde in Denmark, La Pobla de Vallbona in Spain and Szombathely in Hungary. The picturesque city of Toledo in Spain and Székesfehérvár, the "city of kings", nestled between Lake Valence and Lake Balaton, followed in May with another two Maxi Zoos.

Fressnapf Austria opened two stores in Lienz and Villach at the beginning and end of May respectively, making a total of 82 at the end of the quarter. French customers north-east of Paris have been able to enjoy shopping at the new Maxi Zoo in Villparisis since May 1.

From north to south, east to west, expansion also continued in Germany with a new Fressnapf team starting at Hennef in North Rhine-Westphalia on May 19 and Nordhausen in Thuringia on May 22. This was followed by Radolfzell on the north-south axis, and Farmsen-Berne in Hamburg with an "XXL" Fressnapf on June 26, Germany’s sixth XXL "experience store". Farmsen-Berne reached a new Fressnapf milestone with the highest sales within the first three days of opening in the company’s history.

Denmark’s 14th Maxi Zoo was opened in Glostrup on June 26 and Ireland’s 3rd Maxi Zoo was opened in Limerick.
