Germany's dogs and rodents celebrate Oktoberfest with Fressnapf

It's that time of year again! The barrel will be tapped in Germany’s most famous tent to open this year’s Oktoberfest on September 20 - the signal for owners and dogs to chink glasses. Germany’s leading retailer of pet food and accessories, Fressnapf, will once again set party animals’ hearts racing with its Oktoberfest range for dogs and rodents. Fressnapf’s great Oktoberfest treats for dogs have been on sale since September 1. Rodents will also be able to enjoy a different kind of snack between September 29 and October 8. "Sad doggy eyes under the table, while we enjoy fresh draught beer, singing and swaying? We want to change this with our dog beer," says Fress-napf spokesman Achim Schütz.

"Ein Prosit auf die Gemütlichkeit" - A toast to happiness
The original "Schwanzwedler dog beer" is this year's top export and just the thing to prepare thirsty canine throats for the celebrations. Owners can drink and dance on the table with a clear con-science, while their faithful companions enjoy an alcohol-free beverage under the ale-bench. Four-legged friends can then bark along to Bavarian favourites refreshed and in true Oktoberfest spirit - Oans, zwoa, g‘suffa! And the good news for dogs is that only owners get hangovers. While the hu-mans let their hair down with alcohol, their four-legged friends are happy to make do with the non-alcoholic version made from mouth-watering beef stock.

Chew rolls and rubber chickens with lederhosen - cheers!
Whilst owners feast on pretzels, smoked mackerel and radishes, canines can enjoy their very own Oktoberfest snacks – chew rolls made from beef rawhide, available in packs of 100. This is enough to send Rover to Oktoberfest heaven! Refreshed, dogs can join in the next round of singing with a rubber chicken, complete with the essential lederhosen and a squeaker. Soft and chewy, this toy is sure to elicit a howl of pleasure from every canine mouth.

Oktoberfest treats for hamsters, guinea pigs & co.
Rodents can enjoy Bavarian fare too - enthusiasts can celebrate the Oktoberfest at home and treat their furry friend to Oktoberfest-style delicacies: herbs, grains and nuts in place of radishes and pretzels. And so that they look good, the treats are served on a wooden board in true Bavarian style. Should your rodent develop an appetite for these "pretzels", the Oktoberfest treats are also available in a 3-pack for hours of chewing fun!
