The vets from the Fressnapf specialist retail chain advise on individually tuned vaccination depending on age and lifestyle. Here is your vet's advice on this...

  • You should vaccinate all armchair tigers against the highly contagious feline distemper and cat 'flu.

  • Virus diseases such as leucosis or rabies can be contained through vaccination. Both are recommended for free-roaming cats. To some extent the rabies vaccination is a must.

  • With all vaccinations a primary immunisation takes place by means of two doses of the vaccine at an interval of three to four weeks and a booster after twelve months. Thereafter you should boost the immunisation on a regular basis as recommended.

  • These are different to the so-called "flea vaccination": a medication which is injected every half year to stop offspring hatching from any flea eggs present.
